Alan Chiu

Alan Chiu is a Partner at XSeed Capital, where he is focused on backing the most compelling founders building companies in areas such as AI, blockchain, financial services, and enterprise applications.

In addition, Alan is Co-President for Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs, an alumni association that consists of 2,000 Stanford entrepreneurs, faculty members, and alumni investors in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Alan also serves on the alumni board of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and has been a frequent speaker at Stanford on challenges facing early-stage startups, and an advisor/mentor at StartX and Cardinal Ventures since their beginning.

As a company builder, Alan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Enya.ai, a distributed privacy startup focused on empowering individuals to retain agency over their personal data. He had also played product leadership roles at Listo, a financial services provider serving the underbanked Latino immigrants in the US, as well as Bycast (acquired by NetApp), a distributed data management company with a global customer base that included some of the largest digital content repositories in the world. Before Bycast, Alan helped develop the market-leading digital prepress workflow system at Creo, which went public on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Alan holds a BASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia, as well as an MS in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
