To an entrepreneur, a successful exit represents the culmination of many years of hard work and sacrifice and the final stage in turning your company’s vision into a market-accepted reality. It is also an emotional roller coaster ride – stressful and exhilarating – all at the same time. This was absolutely the case for me when we sold our company, Zooz, earlier this year, and I was fortunate enough to have the XSeed Capital team by my side supporting me throughout that journey.
As our first American investor, XSeed Capital brought Zooz a global perspective that was integral in helping us grow. From the very beginning, we (the co-founders) felt tremendously respected and supported and we quickly saw that the XSeed team was investing much more than just capital. They opened up doors for us, connecting us to several major companies and strategic partners. More importantly, they invested time in the Zooz team – even running strategy workshops for our company leaders when we needed help.
The XSeed team also challenged us in the areas where and when we needed it most. XSeed Partner, Rob Siegel, personally mentored us and openly shared his past experiences as a former CEO. He was always fair and honest in his assessments, even when counseling us on some of our more difficult situations. We knew we could count on him and the XSeed team to always be honest with us, and to help guide us where we needed to go.
As we approached the completion of our acquisition, the XSeed team was right there with us. Amidst all of the chaos, Rob and the team were our calm, go-to voice. As a former CEO, Rob knew what we were going through emotionally, and even though he was no longer officially on Zooz’s Board, he was a key coach, offering both guidance and empathy.
Today, we are thrilled to be part of a multi-billion-dollar organization, which is highly recognized and respected the world over. I know that this success would not have been possible without the support and guidance of the XSeed team.
